A Welder's Story

Having worked hard his entire life to earn a living and provide for his family, a 42-year old welder discovered he had colon cancer. Not wanting to leave his family with burdensome debt, his first concern was to safeguard his family's financial security.

Turning to his employer for guidance, he discovered that his Group Life coverage from Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada included an Accelerated Benefits provision. Taking half of the face amount of his group coverage, he was able to pay off all of his debts, with the remaining proceeds payable upon his death.
